Flamingo Flea Market – For Fun, Fitness, Fantastic Finds and A Fabulous Fish Taco!

I have a booth at the Flamingo Island Flea Market. I Figured that because the Flea Market is so big, it can inspire people who may not want to walk the beach or get on a treadmill, to walk The Flea Market.  Not only will you burn Fat but you will Find healthy Foods to Fill your Figures. Go Figure! Whoops another F Word! Keep reading Fantastic Feeling shared below….

Let me explain how easy it is to burn Fat, Feel Fit and at the same time, shop, eat and pick up a Few things you need. I start my day with a great cup of coffee at the Flea Market in one of their many venues. You do not have to resort to your normal morning breakfast spots. Come On mix it up. Life needs to be Fun.  Feed yourself at the Flea Market. There are so many different egg dishes you would think you are at the local diner. There are mini donuts too.  I walk by that section with Fleeting pace!

For lunch, it s Bagel and Loxs or an Avocado Tostado. They do NOT skimp here on Food. The loxs are Fresh, wet and a succulent bright orange color.  This is where I get my protein, niacin, B12 and Potassium. Could be the Seattle girl in me why I love Salmon! Could be the NYC gal in me as I spent most of my life in NYC and bagels were my main stay. But, now that I am in Bonita, Avocados are  my go to Fruit. $6.00 and you have a gourmet meal at the Flea Market!

Later in the day, I want an Espresso. Not a coffee, but an ice cream cone! Just one scoop! After that cone, I am motivated to walk the half mile Flea Market again, but this time, Faster, with Fleeting pace and Feel Fitter than when I First came to the Flea Market.

Mall Walking is now being replaced by Flea Strolling. Y STROLL FIT, because one gets Fitter Faster with more Fun if they  Find The Flea Market on a Friday!

HALF A MILE WALKerSize around the Flea Market. Good Workout! But there is a PROBLEM!

Just think you get up and you say, “Time for my Morning Walk!  You have to decide, are you going to walk the high school track, or one of the many Beaches here in Bonita Springs Florida or maybe just do the same old walk around you Gated Community. BORING. But what if you woke up and said, ” I am going to Walk the Bonita Springs Flea Market! Now that is a destination that will make your Walk far more fun. But, here is the PROBLEM. You may stop your walk and SHOP.

But is that really a PROBLEM? It should not be as for those that may not like to workout, here you are pushed and motivated to get around the Flea Market Track. If you go around twice, it is a MILE. A Mile of meeting new people. Seeing different and unique things to purchase. PROBLEM solved. You got a good workout into your day and you may have shopped, talked and made your Walk, WORTH IT.

It is Sunday afternoon and I am going to end my day here at the Flamingo Island Flea Market by doing my walk.  I am going to listen to Katy Perry’s new song “NEVER REALLY OVER” and hopefully I will get around two times without a PROBLEM.

Melting Muffins Around The Middle: Around The Track or Around The Flea Market?

So, I am giving myself a personal fitness challenge, (Yes even us Personal Trainers need to challenge our bodies!). For the next four weekends in August, Friday, Saturday and Sunday I’m going to WalkerSize® The Flamingo Island Flea Market. It will take about 15 minutes and after, I will head to the picnic tables out front and do Abs and Stretching with the RollerSizeR® Ab Toner.  The walk around the market is about a half mile. I am going to count my steps if I do not stop to look at cool stuff or talk to other ! Keep you posted.  The trick is to SHOP or NOT TO STOP. If I do see something I like, and I always do, I will remember the Booth and take a visit later. There is really cool, weird, unique finds here and it is tough to focus on the walking ‘Melt’ when your eyes are Melting over a neat found treasure.

Now to discuss the Melting part of the ‘Muffin’ Walk AROUND the Market. In the morning, The Flea Market is FRESH and a perfect temperature for a good fitness walk. It helps the ‘Melt’. There are cool Pipes from the ceiling. They are positioned every ten feet. Just enough to get a quick burst of cold air to propel one on their quest to Melt the Muffin. Fat ‘Melts’, I think easier when it is NOT too cold. This is how I think. Take this image.  If you put a cold cube of butter in a sauce pan and turn up the heat, Voila, the butter melts. So does your Butt and your Muffin! As you walk the Flea you can feel the fat pouring out of you and all the toxins from last night or the night before!

While walking around the Flea Market, I will Track my shopping indulgences.  Hopefully like food, I will curb my appetite to SHOP! But, I may have to stop for a Coffee and a MUFFIN.

The BLUE ISLE IS THE COOL ISLE… Just Saying!

The Flamingo Island Flea Market is in Bonita Springs. In summer it gets a little hot. But isn’t that why you love coming to S.W. Florida? Let alone those whom have chosen to live here full time, like I DO! I guess we survive the heat because we have air conditioning everywhere we go.

The Flamingo Island is a OPEN “Flea” Market. After Hurricane IRMA, they had a little Facelift. They added ‘Air Conditioning’.  SO NICE.  It is piped in with colorful pipes that are along the Isles both Blue and Red, about every 10 feet.

That being said. Normally people park their cars and when they enter the Flea Market they are swept into the Red Isle and the river of shopping! We call it, the Red ‘Light’ Isle (Well, something else that starts with a ‘D’). Why? Because it has a lot of lights! Some even blink, move, sparkle. Like a mini 42nd Street! Not kidding! It is super fun and has really COOL stuff. But the BLUE ISLE IS COOL STUFF TOO and COOLER!

By the time you get to the turn at the North Side of the Market, you feel tired. It is a workout! 300 hundred Booths just in one Isle!  Because the Flea Market is huge! By the time you get to COOL side, the “COOLER” side, The BLUE ISLE, (Where my booth is, Bonita Fit #49), you are tuckered out. There is a bench in front of my booth that most folks use to recover from the Red Isle! I am glad I know C.P.R.!

So here is the COOL thing to do. Do an Isle in one day or make it a Three Day Weekend. Take it in. Each Booth requires you to Check It OUT. Meet the Booth Owner. Come the next day and do the Other Isle. You will NOT feel like you are going to faint at the end of the Red Isle or that you are going to miss all the GOOD STUFF in the Blue Isle. Just Saying!

WHEN GYMS ARE TOO COLD!

I like to Sweat when I workout! I like to feel the beads of sweat dripping down my thighs. I like it when my arm pits are moist and slippery. I love it when I am feeling fit and sticky.

When I go into most GYMS, they are freezing cold. So cold that I have to bike or treadmill for 30 minutes before I even feel warm, let alone hot. When I go to these Cold Gyms, I have to wear a bra that is like an armor, so I do not give that “Wet” T Shirt look while I am feeling “nippy”?

Sweating helps the body cleanse, purify and get the pores pouring out toxins.  I also like to imagine the fat on my body is heating up and melting off with every drop of sweat. Sipping cold water with lemon and spraying your face with a cool mist of mint feels as if you brought you own Spa.

Here at the Flamingo Island Flea Market, that pool of sweat is found fast in the Blue Isle. Fitness is found and released and the feeling of being hot and sweaty is discovered. But what is really great, the class is over in 30 minutes while others in the Gym, are still trying and waiting to feel the burn?

MALL WALKING ANYONE? Let’s get Fit at the Flamingo Island Flea Market!

Turn Music On While Reading. It gets you in the Move!

I have been coming to the local Bonita Springs, Florida Flamingo Island Flea Market for about 11 years off and on. When I finally moved here permanently in the summer of 2016, I started to go back and check out the interesting Booths that the Flea Market. One of the things I noticed as a fitness instructor, it is BIG. It is like a Track. To walk the entire Flea Market is a half mile, 300 Booths on the Red Isle and 300 Booths on the Blue Isle. Just think twice around and you have not only done a mile, but you may have had a serious shopping experience!

In the winter of 2018, after some stressful, family issues and unnecessary traveling, I started to remember back when I got Moms to push their strollers in Central Park and get fit for Motherhood. Well, now it is time to get fit if you are over 50, 60, 70 and yes, we are taking on 80, 90 and 100! Keeping with the Size of things, StrollerSize, RollerSizeR, the classes offered are WalkerSize™ and WaisterSize™. The class focus like any class I teach, is about posture, joint alignment and feeling fit and thinner!

WalkerSize we walk the Blue Isle because that is where my Booth is (Booth #49). We stop and do posture moves under our very own personal air conditioner PIPE. We use a lot of arms because we are using The RollerSizeR® Portable Ab Toner ($39.95 at the Booth, $49.95 on Amazon) That class is about 30 minutes, ($5.00). After, we go to Booth #53 and #54 in the Blue Isle and sit on BIG BALLS or portable camp chairs I purchased from Booth #30 & #32. Will be using them at the local parks when I start to grow. We also of course, use The RollerSizeR as it makes getting fit easier and F.A.S.T.E.R.  It is The Gym in the Bag!

This is my first POST. I just starting teaching and the classes are small.  I am not worried. Strollercize started with three MOMS and later grew to 100 classes in Manhattan. If you can do it there, you can do it in The Flamingo Island Flea Market in Bonita Springs, Florida.
